Conference Agenda

About IHRFG Conferences
IHRFG’s conferences are an opportunity for participating grantmakers to hear and engage with leading human rights practitioners, policy makers, scholars, and peers on timely human rights issues. These events serve as learning and networking forums that promote the exchange of information and collaboration among grantmakers.

About the San Francisco Conference

January's conference plenary sessions explored the theme of Regions in Transition: Protecting Human Rights.

The opening plenary examined women's involvement in transition, looking to the Arab region as an example.

The closing plenary explored the special circumstances of human rights defenders in situations of transition or instability.

Members also participated in dynamic workshops and discussions on:

  • Gender-based violence in military and prison systems
  • Addressing land grabs in the Global South
